VivoBook Flip explored soft materials and created a new fashion experience with fabric texture, making the notebook a fashion accessory instead of just a productivity tool. With the special concertina structure, a new design was so created that there is complete seamlessness between the AB part and the CD part when the user flipped the notebook. In the process of taskforce, different functional structures and opening/closing methods were tried through the previous functional model. By actual experiments, I got the experience and understood the relationship between the axial distance and the number of folds. At the same time, I cooperated with fabric manufacturers and IML Department to understand the limitations and advantages of soft materials so that we might solve their limitations and emphasize the advantages of fabric quality. Finally, I actually worked with the manufacturer to turn the conceptual proposal into a practical mass production solution.
